home upgrades made affordable

Greater Seattle Energy Incentives

Home energy rebates, tax credits, and special programs can significantly reduce the cost of upgrading your home – but understanding which incentives apply can be confusing. Programs vary by utility, location, income eligibility, and installation requirements, and the details matter.

This page serves as a starting point for homeowners in the Seattle area who want clarity. Below, you’ll find the major local and federal incentive programs available in our service area, along with links to detailed pages that explain each program in plain language. Hansen Home Services helps homeowners navigate these incentives and complete qualifying installations correctly, safely, and to code.

How Local Rebates & Incentives Work

Most home energy incentives fall into one of the following categories:

  • Utility rebates offered by your electric or gas provider.

  • Federal tax credits claimed when you file your taxes.

  • Grant-funded or community programs designed for income-eligible households.

Which programs apply depends on where you live, who provides your utility service, and the type of upgrade you’re considering. Many homeowners qualify for more than one incentive, but they must be coordinated correctly.

Department of Energy Logo

Available to qualifying homeowners nationwide, the federal government offers tax credits for certain home energy upgrades, including electric vehicle home charger installations.

Eligibility for federal credits is often location-based and claimed at tax time.

the right incentives for you

Which Incentives Apply to My Home?

Many homeowners aren’t sure which utility serves their home or which incentives they qualify for – and that’s normal. Eligibility may depend on:

  • Your utility provider.

  • Your existing heating or electrical systems.

  • Your location and household eligibility.

  • Program timelines and funding availability.

Rather than navigating this alone, many homeowners choose to review incentives as part of a professional consultation.
